"Ocean Deities' Domain"
Global climate change is worsening, causing Pacific and Indian Ocean island nations to be submerged, leading to climate refugee governments, declarations of stateless nations, and land reclamation projects. Facing the loss of their territories, these nations seek to redefine their boundaries and exercise sovereignty internationally. Concurrently, frequent natural disasters have led people to turn to nature worship for stability. ”Sea God Boundaries“ uses the ocean as a central concept to envision future collective technological rituals that shape and summon future sea gods. Utilizing sound interaction devices to trigger soundscapes in real-time, it showcases the awareness and imagery of sea gods in different regions, expanding boundaries. This reflects humanity‘s effort to define boundaries through sea god beliefs amid extreme climate conditions, thereby legitimizing territorial claims.
